I am a long-time amateur landscape photographer....I have been hiking and photographing for about 35 years. It is, simply, my favorite hobby and passion. I do not sell my work...I do this just because I enjoy it. Landscape photography gives me a reason to visit beautiful places that I might not otherwise see, and I have been fortunate over the years to visit so many stunning, remote, and wild locations.

Today, I am retired, but some might also call me a capitalist and investor. I used to run a boutique management consulting firm OakStone Partners.  OakStone was so successful that my wife and I were able to retire at age 50 after only 8 years of running that consultancy. Before that, I was a management consultant in large and mid-size consultancies. Before that, I was an engineer.  I received a Ph.D. in Engineering and an MBA, both with highest honors, a long time ago.

My other hobbies include investing, in which I have done very well,  and computing/home networking.  I am also somewhat of a polymath, with the capability to read,  understand, and put to practical use Ph.D.-level papers and concepts in medicine, advanced math, and a variety of other areas.  I have been known to read up to 40 Ph.D.-level papers a day to find or conceive of solutions to pressing problems.  But with all that education and professional work, the one constant I've maintained is my love of wilderness, which is, unfortunately, rapidly disappearing.  I am blessed to have married a truly lovely woman, my high school sweetheart, who has indulged, and at times, accompanied me on my photography walkabouts.

I hope that you enjoy the photos of the places I've been almost as much as I have enjoyed visiting these beautiful and amazing places. Thank you for visiting.
